Generic Stromectol Ivermectin and Its Usage
Generic Stromectol Ivermectin is used to treat river blindness onchocerciasis and a certain type of diarrhea strongyloidiasis. It may also be used for some other kinds of worm infections.
Generic Stromectol Ivermectin is the combination of 22,23-dihydro-avermectin B1a (at least 90%) and 22,23-dihydro-avermectin B1b (less than 10%). It is a semi synthetic, anthelminitic agent. It is an avermectin which a group of pentacyclic sixteen-membered lactone (i.e. a macrocyclic lactone disaccharide) derived from the soil bacterium Streptomyces avermitilis. Avermectins are potent anti-parasitic agents. Stromectol is the most common avermectin. It is an all-purpose anti parasitic drug for oral administration. It is occasionally used to treat human onchocerciasis (river blindness).
Drug Interactions

What should I watch for while using this medicine?
See your doctor or health care professional for a follow-up visit as directed. Make a test to check that the infection is totally cured. You may need retreatment. Your doctor should be informed if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.
Put into practice good hygiene to put a stop to infection of others. Wash your hands, scrub your fingernails and shower often. Every day change and wash linens and undergarments. Clean toilets often and keep floors hygienic.
Stromectol (ivermectin) Side Effects
You must seek urgent medical help if you notice any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor without further ado if you observe any of the following serious side effects:
eye redness, swelling, or pain; or
Seizure (convulsions).
vision changes or problems with your vision;
urinary or bowel problems;
weakness, confusion, lack of coordination;

What happens if I miss a dose?
Since Generic Stromectol Ivermectin is usually given as a single dose, you will probably not be on a dosing schedule. If you are taking a repeat dose of ivermectin and you miss the dose, call your doctor for instructions.
What happens if I overdose?
Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have taken an overdose of Generic Stromectol Ivermectin. Overdoses can create many problems including skin rash, swelling, headache, dizziness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, seizure (convulsions), shortness of breath, and numbness or tingling.
What should I avoid while taking Stromectol (ivermectin)?
Avoid drinking alcohol, which can increase some of the side effects of ivermectin.
