Generic Stromectol (Ivermectin) is a semisynthetic, anthelmintic agent for oral administration. Ivermectin is derived from the avermectins, a group of highly active broad-spectrum, anti-parasitic agents isolated from the fermentation products of Streptomyces avermitilis .
Indication
Generic Stromectol Ivermectin is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by certain parasites. It also has several other uses.
How should I take Stromectol (ivermectin)?
Take a single dose of Generic Stromectol Ivermectin on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. To be sure improvement is taking place by this medication; check a sample of your stool (bowel movement) often. Never miss any scheduled visits to your doctor.
You may need to be retreated with ivermectin several months to a year after your single dose.
If you store Generic Stromectol Ivermectin at home, keep it at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
Precautions
Before taking Generic Stromectol Ivermectin tablet, let your doctor or pharmacist know if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. Don't forget to notify your doctor your medical history, especially of: immune system problems (e.g., HIV), breathing problems (asthma), recent foreign travel (Loa-loa endemic areas). This drug can cause dizziness or drowsiness; apply much care engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Minimize alcoholic beverages. To reduce dizziness and lightheadedness, get up unhurriedly when rising from a seated or lying position. This medication should be not be used during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. This medicine passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Side effects
Many side effects have been reported by people taking Generic Stromectol Ivermectin tablet. There were four clinical studies conducted on a total of 109 patients who were given either one or two doses of 170 to 200 mcg/kg of stromectol, the following adverse reactions were reported as possibly, probably, or definitely related to STROMECTOL:
These studies revealed that 0.9% of people suffered asthenia/fatigue while 0.9% of people observed abdominal pain after taking this medication.
In comparative trials, patients treated with Generic Stromectol Ivermectin experienced more abdominal distention and chest discomfort than patients treated with albendazole. However, Stromectol was better tolerated than thiabendazole in comparative studies involving 37 patients treated with thiabendazole.
Overdosage

What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it immediately you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take extra doses.
What may interact with this medicine?
Interactions are not expected. Generic Stromectol Ivermectin still may rise to many interactions if used with other drugs. Give your health care providers a list of all the medicines, herbs, non-prescription drugs, or dietary supplements you use. Also tell them if you smoke, drink alcohol, or use illegal drugs. Some items may interact with your medicine.
